It is very simple, in my opinion. If your enemy is predictable, it takes fewer resources to fight it. If it is predictable and is spending many resources being so, well....never interrupt your enemy when making a mistake. That is one of the reasons we are hearing so much about the counter offensive. It may be even months away, but the constant news about it make it an great example of the death sentence surprise paradox
